Content editor and social media expert

General framework:

The GET project, co-funded by the European Commission, aims at enhancing the capacity of formal education systems in 8 European countries (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain) to support students and teachers to develop a sense of co-responsibility for local and global sustainable development and, specifically 4 global challenges (Climate Change, Gender Inequalities, Global Inequalities and Migration) through the application of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) approaches in schools.

In the case of Spain, the project is implemented in several Autonomous Communities and in each of them it will focus on to promote innovative teaching practices and planning tools applicable to their own education system,  fostering collaboration among educators across Europe and taking into account the adaptation to the particularities and needs of their population. For the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, the local partner of the project is the Coordinadora Andaluza de ONGD (CAONGD), which assumes the coordination role of the project and its activities in the Andalusian territory.

GET project activities integrate six key elements to effectively incorporate GCE into formal education: 1) production and capitalisation of curriculum relevant teaching and learning materials, 2) training and support for teachers, 3) social media communication campaign to disseminate teaching and learning materials, 4) active involvement of students in learning process and as active citizens in their communities, 5) advocacy targeting Education authorities based on research evidence; 6) GCE assessment and evaluation systems designed specifically for schools.

The project aims to develop in its recipients a sense of co-responsibility with respect to SDGs, and specifically to four Global Challenges: Global inequalities, Climate change, Gender equality, Migration, contributing to the achievement of SDG Target 4.7.

The communication and social media expert will be responsible for developing and implementing a communication plan for an EU-funded project focused on education in coordination with the CAONGD communication manager and with the CAONGD's own communication strategies and activities.

 

Responsibilities: 

The Content Editor and Social Media Expert will be an integral part of an international communication team, led by the communication lead from the project's coordinating organization, CISP (Italy). This team will work collaboratively to define the scope and criteria for the project’s overall communication strategy.

The Content Editor and Social Media Expert will liaise directly with, and report to, the Andalusian project coordinators, who will oversee the local adaptation of the project's communication strategy.

In collaboration with the general project coordinators (CISP), the Andalusian project coordinators (CAONGD), and communication leads from other European partners, this role will be responsible for:

  1. Communication strategy
  • Develop a comprehensive communication plan tailored to the andalussian context.
  • Identify the project's target audience, particularly focusing on teachers and young people, and study their communication preferences and needs.
  • Select suitable social media platforms, with a focus on Facebook and Instagram, for effectively reaching and engaging with the target audience.
  • Collaborate with the andalusian Project Coordinator and Communication Manager to align communication efforts with project objectives.
  1. Content production
  • Create compelling content for both the overall EU-level website (in English) and the local website in spanish, ensuring consistency and relevance.
  • Produce engaging written, visual, and multimedia content to share project updates, success stories, and relevant resources.
  • Develop an editorial plan to guide content creation throughout the project's lifespan, reflecting project milestones and thematic priorities.
  • Upload contents on EU-level and spanish-level websites (news, documents, photos, videos, etc.).
  1. Social media management
  • Manage and maintain the andalussian social media accounts of the project (in English and spanish).
  • Curate and schedule posts, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers to foster a vibrant online community.
  • Monitor social media metrics and analytics to assess performance and optimise content strategy accordingly.
  1. Reporting and analytics:
  • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators, including reach, engagement, and audience demographics.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement, informing strategic decision-making.

 

Duration of the contract:

This position is required for the entire duration of the project (3 years, starting from september 2024) and is a part-time position of approximately 15/20 hours per week.

Annual service contracts will be made, renewable if both parties agree to the continuation.

 

Remuneration:

11,800 euros gross per year (all taxes included).

 

Place of work

Autonomous. Meetings of the international project team will be online only. Some in-person presence weekly time may be required with the andalusian project coordinator in Seville.

Requisitos

Profile of candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communication.
  • Previous experience in editorial management and social media management, with a strong portfolio showcasing content creation skills and social media campaigns.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Familiarity with education-related topics and experience working with teachers or educational organisations is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and engaging audiences through digital channels.
  • Capacity to work in collaboration with international teams.
